VHP demands stoppage of subsidy to Hajis
Sonepat, Haryana, April 16
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has asked the Government
to immediately stop subsidy to Haj pilgrims or else provide similar facility for pilgrims
for Kailash Mansarovar, Amarnath and other shrines.
"Either immediately stop subsidy for Haj pilgrims or Hindu orgnisations will demand
similar subsidy for Kailash Mansarovar, Amarnath and holy shrines of Jammu and
Kashmir," VHP acting president Ashok Singhal said at a public reception here
yesterday.
On Ram temple, he said it would "positively" be constructed at Ayodhya.
"The construction work of the 'chabutra' has begun and the work for the construction
of Ram mandir will be started after march next year," he said. Singhal said VHP's
Dharam Sansad has already given the deadline to the Central Government to remove all
impediments in the construction work of the temple.
Stating that VHP planned to build similar temples at Kashi and Mathura, he said the people
were ready to make all sacrifices for the cause. The VHP leader also expressed his concern
over the alleged atrocities being committed on Hindus in some foreign countries and warned
that if such atrocities and harassment were not stopped, the VHP would take suitable
retaliatory action. (PTI)
